In the wake of the recent tragic accident at the 2×600 MW power plant located in Singhitrai Gram Panchayat, the plant management (VLCTPP) and contracting agencies have initiated the distribution of compensation to the families of the deceased. While representatives are personally visiting affected families within Chhattisgarh, specialized teams have been dispatched to other states to ensure the timely delivery of relief to the kin of out-of-state workers.

​0 Comprehensive Financial Support

The company has announced a robust compensation package for the victims:
​Deceased Workers: A compensation of ₹35 lakh and employment assistance for the families.
​Injured Workers: ₹15 lakh each, along with a full monthly salary until they are certified fit to return to work.
​Long-term Security: Families of the deceased will receive a monthly pension as per the provisions of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

Injured workers are currently receiving high-level medical treatment at specialized hospitals in Raigarh and Raipur. Management has engaged expert consultants to oversee their recovery. For those in critical condition, the company has kept an air ambulance on standby to facilitate immediate transfer to advanced medical centers if necessary.

​To provide emotional and logistical support, the company has also established the ‘Vedanta Samvedna Center’, a 24×7 helpline dedicated to the victims and their relatives.
​Families Express Satisfaction with Care
Relatives of the injured, including Sarita Rathore (wife of Keshav Chandra), Priyanka Chandra (wife of Bhuvneshwar Chandra), and others at Fortis Hospital (Raigarh) and Metro Balaji Hospital, have acknowledged the company’s efforts. They shared that company representatives are stationed at the hospitals round-the-clock, managing all expenses for treatment, lodging, and meals. “The quality of treatment is excellent, and we are seeing a steady improvement in the health of our loved ones,” the family members stated.
