Korba: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a unit of Vedanta Aluminium and India’s iconic aluminium producer, successfully concluded the 37th National Road Safety Month. Under the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’, the company engaged over 5,000 employees, business partners, and community members through a month-long series of awareness drives aimed at fostering a culture of safety.

The campaign featured a diverse array of activities designed to instill road discipline and preventive safety practices:
* Interactive Sessions: The drive included quizzes, nukkad nataks (street plays), and drawing competitions for employees and students.
* Innovative Learning: BALCO introduced ‘Road Rush’, a gamified learning module to encourage safe driving behavior among routine drivers.
* Health & Safety: Eye and health check-up camps were organized specifically for heavy vehicle drivers across the logistics network.
* Community Outreach: Awareness sessions and emergency response drills were conducted in local schools to educate the youth on traffic discipline.

BALCO has integrated cutting-edge technology to ensure a “Zero Harm” environment:
* AI Monitoring: The T-Pulse HSSE system utilizes AI-enabled cameras to track on-ground compliance.
* Smart Oversight: The Centralized Security Operations Centre (CSOC) uses data analytics to strengthen traffic management and road safety.
* Advanced Systems: Internal vehicular operations now utilize Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) to enhance safety within plant premises.

Emphasizing the importance of the initiative, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO and Director of BALCO, stated:
